Sr. Network Specialist, Hovensa LLC, St. Croix, US Virgin Islands                                        (2003 -  Present)

Responsible for supporting network switches, Definity s8700 PBX with G700 Media Gateways through VOIP, Audix, Lucent’s FRAD, Juniper firewalls and WAN data compression devices, TruTrack and Identipass building access systems, TargetVision multimedia, Polycom video conferencing, and all other communications systems.   Designed and implemented network with state of the art technology to provide secured wired and wireless network for the facility with more than 100 buildings spread over 8 square kilometers. The technology included various network products from Aruba Networks, Cisco, and Linksys to enforce 802.1x security, role based policy enforcement, and QoS for over 1500 network devices.  Supporting the passive network including the fiber optic cable connectivity.

Managed about 35 desktop engineers, 3 service desk coordinators, 4 NOC support engineers at Digital Globalsoft.

Responsible for providing level 1 desktop support for about 3500 end users spread across 3 campuses in a 24 x 7 environment.

Installed and configured Lotus Notes servers and configured SMTP mail transfer agent to connect Internet e-mail to Notes mail.

Installed network Firewall and configured the firewall and NAT strategies.

Migrated from Novell LAN to NT LAN and e-mail system from GroupWise to Lotus Notes. Manage NetWare 4.1 servers located in different cities throughout US connected via Frame Relay

Installed and managed GroupWise with seven post offices, GW-Asynchronous gateway, GW-Notes gateway, and GW-SMTP gateway.

Configured RightFax network server to provide fax services in the NT LAN

 

Relay Technologies, Inc., Vienna, VA:  (Client)

Built NetWare for SAA ver 2.2, 2.0 and 1.3B gateways on NetWare 3.x and 4.x servers in a token ring LAN and configured profiles on the gateways.  The setup provided a platform for Relay's software development and testing using SNA, IPX and TCP/IP protocols

 

US National Library of Medicine (NLM), National Institutes of Health,US DHHS, Bethesda, MD:  (Client)

Installed several NetWare 3.x and 4.x file servers, NetWare Asynchronous Communications Servers, NetWare Connect server, NetWare for SAA gateways, CD-ROM server, DHCP servers, Cubix and Capserver remote access systems, HP and other printers

Programmed in Winbatch to access CD-ROMs from about 500 workstations connected across the LAN

Programmed to automate daily and monthly backup processes for NetWare file servers on four backup units

Provided remote access solution for NLM programmers throughout the US to update NLM's mainframe MEDLARS databases

Installed and configured TCP/IP software packages from various vendors

Custom-configured several Notebook computers for NLM executives for LAN as well as dial-up communications. Configured a system to demonstrate Internet Grateful Med (IGM) program to Secretary  Donna Shalala at downtown DHHS office. 

Configured system for Senator Bill Frist (R) to release the IGM product at Georgetown University in front of the congressional committee and Vice President Al Gore
